Kinos  ·  A small software studio

Software for a life in motion.

We build tools that hold the weight of daily detail — the logs, the lists, the reminders, the measurements — quietly, in the background, so you have room for the things that don't belong in an app.

A different premise

Most software has the equation backwards.

The usual equation most software runs on

Ask for more of your attention, not less.
Treat your life as a collection of metrics to optimize, instead of a life to be lived.

Notifications. Streaks. Engagement loops. The quiet, steady transfer of your hours into someone else's dashboard.

Our equation at Kinos

The best software is the kind you notice the least. The kind that holds the daily detail quietly, so you have room for the things that don't belong in an app.

Family. Friendship. A long run. A slow dinner. The version of yourself you mean to be.

What we make

A small family of products, built on the same premise.

Two more, on the same premise.

One that quietly holds a household's small finances. One that helps a family stay close across distance. Both built so they sit lightly on the day, and weigh nothing.

  • Same engineering rigor — real data, real precision
  • Same human constraint — the product is never the data
  • Built in the open, shipped when they're honest

still being made.

We'll show you when there's something honest to show.

How we build

Analytical by nature. Human by design.

01

Real data, real models

Taking care of people's lives is a serious engineering problem. The math underneath has to be honest before the surface can be calm.

02

Quiet by default

No streaks, no nags, no badges. The product asks for your attention only when something genuinely needs you, then it gets out of the way.

03

The product isn't the data

Charts and graphs are scaffolding. The product, in the end, is the space the data gives back to you.

04

Family-shaped, not user-shaped

We design for whole lives — partners, kids, parents, dogs, weeknights. Not personas. Not power users. People.

The point of all of it

The product, in the end, is the room the software gives back to you.

Mon · 19:30
A slow dinner.

The kind nobody photographs. The bread is bad and nobody minds.

Sat · 06:40
A long run.

Watch on, head off. The data is quietly recording itself.

Sun · all day
Family.

The chaotic, unmetric-able good of it. No app required.

Tue · 22:10
A friend's call.

The one you've been meaning to make for three weeks.

None of this is on a screen. That's the point.← that's what the software is for.
The studio

A small studio, building carefully, in public.

Kinos is a small software studio. We pick a problem that lives in the daily fabric of a person's life — keeping a household running, training for a marathon, holding a budget, staying close to far-away family — and we build one rigorous, calm tool for it.

We're analytical by nature and human by design. Our tools are technically rigorous — real data, real models, real precision — because we believe taking care of people's lives is a serious engineering problem. But the product, in the end, is never the data. It's the space the data gives back to you.

We ship when something is honest. We charge fairly. We don't run on attention or engagement — we run on a small monthly fee, paid by people who got their week back. That's the only metric we care about.

Begin gently

Take back the room in your week.

Start with whichever product fits the shape of your life. Both are honest about what they are: small tools that do one thing well, then get out of the way.
